STEP 1

The file remembers the saved

If you change the file, save it through File → Save. Quick button: Ctrl+S, on Mac - Cmd+S.

The way forward

You write.change the fileSave it.Ctrl/Cmd+SLaunch.You see.

✦ If there is a dot next to the tab name, the changes have not yet been saved.

STEP 2

In the File menu, you can enable Auto Save. Then VS Code will save the changes itself. Check the file name before launching.

✦ Don't confuse saving with running a program.

TRY IT YOURSELF

Change one line in hello.py, save the file manually. Then look for File → Auto Save and see if it is enabled.
